I am configuring the barman tool to be able to create incremental backups, I am reading the barman documentation, but I have a question that I still cannot fully understand, it is in a matter of cron barman, this process is recommended to be automated by linux crontab every minute , I would like to understand what benefit I have when automating barman cron and in the worst case, what would happen if I do not automate it and only execute it at the end of the configuration of the tool.
