I am very interested in doing it. However I am new to postgresql. Could you and anyone here please give me some hint, which way I should, which part of code I should focus to fix it?

Nobody seems to be interested enough to figure that out and submit a
patch to fix it.  If someone does, I think it would have a good chance
of being accepted.
