Thread: Initdb and pg_variable

I don't understand the error that occurs me when I execute "initdb -l
/usr/lib/pgsql -r post -d" on my system.
I report the error below:

ERROR:  cannot read block 0 of pg_variable
ERROR:  cannot read block 0 of pg_variable
initdb: could not create template database
initdb: cleaning up by wiping out post/base/template1


What pg_variable is?
I hope that someone can help me.

Hi!

I have pgsql 6.5.3 with multibyte support and PHP 3.0.5 linked to pgsql
libraries dynamically.
Sometimes php program receives strange data looks like "(digits)(digits)..." as
query result. What is it??? ;-)
