Thread: starting pg_ctl or postmaster under WIN2000

Hello,

when trying to launch postmaster with the user postgres i've got the error message:
"... server must be launched with non privileged user ...".

my command line : runas /user:ARIGAL-2\postgres "C:\Program Files\PostgreSQL\8.0.0-beta5\bin\pg_ctl start -D D:\postgreswin\data"

my postgres user under WIN2000 has been created without including it in the administrator group.
I have tried all the options.

So I don't understand how to create a non privileged user under WIN2000, what does it mean ?

if you can help me it would be good because i can't launch the postmaster !
