Log message:
    pg_dump needs to use ONLY when selecting data from user tables, in case
    they have children.  As it stood, -d dump mode was badly broken.

Nope, 7.0 will not accept that syntax.

Does this apply to 7.0? I'm still thinking of a 7.0 compatibility mode...
