Question about system catalog, documentation and datatype sizes (probably a bug)

Hello All
I have some inconsistency with system catalog and documentation.
For types INET and CIDR documentation  shows certain sizes but system
catalog for these types provide -1 value (variable length).
So where is the truth ?
