Thread: 7.3 RPMS
Is there an ETA on the 7.3 RPMS? I'll probably just try compiling from source - should I remove the previous RPMS before compiling? __________________________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo! Mail Plus - Powerful. Affordable. Sign up now. http://mailplus.yahoo.com

Where I live is currently undergoing a major ice storm. I was not able to go into work today; I have a set of RPMs for preliminary testing here now -- however, I have been in communication with the SuSE distribution's packager, and we're trying to see how to better coordinate some of the several changes that have occurred coming into 7.3. I plan on working on this tonight, given continuity of AC power and telephone service. As I'm on dialup at home, it will take a good deal of time to upload the set. I want to thank Joe Conway for his unofficial RPMset. To answer your question, it may very well be a good idea to rpm -e the RPM installation first. The 7.3 RPMset will include a very much requested feature, courtesy of Karl DeBisschop, where multiple postmasters of the same version can be started. ETA is this week sometime. -- Lamar Owen WGCR Internet Radio 1 Peter 4:11

If you want to send me the spec file and other support files (besides the source tarball), I can build/upload the RPMs for you. Let me know if I can help. Joe p.s. I posted a link on HACKERS, but not on GENERAL. For those who just can't wait, the "unofficial" RPMs are available here: http://www.joeconway.com

I appreciate the offer; however, I still have some work and testing to do. I have a couple of build boxen available to me that I can build on, that are both on T1's. I'm just not sure how long it will take to get a build up on one of them. I'll see where it goes -- I'm tracking a NLS problem right now (the support files for NLS aren't being added to the %file lists for some reason). -- Lamar Owen WGCR Internet Radio 1 Peter 4:11
