Thread: Please explain the gin index

PG tsearch2 users,

I notice there is an 8.1 backport of tsearch2 for 8.2
(http://www.sai.msu.su/~megera/oddmuse/index.cgi/Tsearch2WhatsNew).

Has anybody used this?

What are the performance differences between the new GIN index and GIST?
