Thread: Just a small thing for 6.3 ...
May I suggest a minor change? - "Keep the directory tidy" The "data/base/*/" directories looks awful, almost as bad as the c:\windows dir on my dos partition... ;-) All types of files are just thrown in, without any structure. It would be nice if the files were put into separate subdirs: data/base/mydb/{systables,tables,indexes,sequences,tmp} etc. Sometimes my temporary sort files grow too big, and I would love to be able to symlink tmp/ to another partition. /* m */

This might be easier to do once we start implementing the session- and transaction-only definitions in SQL92. Not there for v6.3... - Tom
