If I turn on KSQO in the driver settings I get an error on my Linux Box that
says
     "unrecognizable variable ksqo".

I am also getting errors on the linux side that say
    "Can't find a default operator class for type 28."

I'm not certain, but what version of Postgres are you running? I would
guess that KSQO is specific to a recent version, perhaps only the most
recent (v6.4).

That is correct.   KSQO is an optimizing option which is only available
with the 6.4 backend.
