Summary: huge ODBC metadata traffic

Initial Comment:
Hi,

I have a VB5 app which is connected to a PG 8 via ODBC driver.  I noticed
that I have a lot of meta-data (against sys-tables) traffic generated from
ODBC driver.

Particularly if I redo N times the same query I have N times the metadata traffic (which is about 90% of the total
querytraffic). 

Is there any way to force the ODBC driver to cache this metadata?
