Hi,

Hope you can help with below:

Trying to install pgadmin4 and when trying to complete it comes up 'Fatal Error'. The application server could not be contacted.

I have tried several times now to completeThanks,

  • Operating System and Version?
  • pgAdmin4 Version?
  • pgAdmin4 logs which is available in <users>/.pgadmin/pgadmin4.log

I have attached some photographs hopefully with the required information. I have tried and tried but cannot get past picture SQL3.

SQL3 image is of StackBuilder, you can cancel that. pgAdmin4 comes with PostgreSQL Database. Can you please provide below information:
  • pgAdmin4 logs which is available in <users>/.pgadmin/pgadmin4.log

So you have downloaded and installed pgAdmin4 v3.4 that's fine. But when you launch pgAdmin4 it throws fatal error "The application server could not be contacted.", to analyse that can you please provide: 
  • All the log file starting with ".pgAdmin4" name in users's home directory. (Refer the attached screenshot)

Akshay,

This is too much for me I did not think setting up would be so difficult, time consuming and frustrating. I wanted to learn SQL. What you are asking me now to do on log files, not a clue.

I think I will call it a day and look for some tuition elsewhere. I have spent the last 2 days trying to set up and still cannot access course.
