Thread: error
Hello,
--
yesterday I finally upgraded my pgAdmin4 v4.x to v7.1 and now I keep getting this error. Could you help me out? The previous version workeds like a charm and even when I have nothing running I still get this error.
PermissionError: [WinError 32] The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process: 'C:\\Users\\misch\\AppData\\Roaming\\pgAdmin\\pgadmin4.db' -> 'C:\\Users\\misch\\AppData\\Roaming\\pgAdmin\\pgadmin4.db.20230510100201'
Hope to hear from you soon,
Mischa

Hi Mischa,
I think there are multiple versions of pgAdmin running on your PC. If you have installed v7.1 then please uninstall v4.x or any other existing pgAdmin versions.

Hi Aditya,

thanks for your quick reply. I only had v7.1 installed, but after some trial and error, did manage to get 6.19 to work on my system. When I connect to our server though, I get the following message which I have never seen before when running the older version. It looks like I can access our server, dispite the error, but when opening a Schema and trying to check a Table within pgAdmin starts loading, but never retrieves the data. I tried looking the error up, but couldn't find a useful awnser. Perhaps you have some tips? I see in the bottom right that our server is older than version 6.19 officially supports. Maybe I should switch back to an older pgAdmin? Where can I find those, since in my enthousiasm to update...I uninstalled the old version.
Kind regards,
Mischa

Hi Mischa,
pgAdmin latest supports PostgreSQL v10 and later. If you're using an older version of PostgreSQL, then there is no guarantee pgAdmin will behave correctly.

Ah yes, I thought so. Is there any way to download an older version of pgAdmin somewhere?
